Accounts Assistant - £30,000-£35,000
Seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Sage and Excel and be confident handling a range of accounting tasks to support the smooth operation of our finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily bank reconciliations using Sage and Excel spreadsheets.
- Code purchase invoices for director approval.
- Allocate all sales invoices and payments.
- Reconcile sales and purchase ledger day books in Sage.
- Code, batch, and post sales and purchase invoices onto Sage.
- Post and allocate cash receipts and payments in Sage.
- Reconcile duty deferment usage on a weekly basis.
Weekly Tasks:
- Reconcile bank accounts against statements.
- Prepare weekly cash flow reports using Excel, incorporating data from Sage and bank accounts.
- Generate a weekly debtors list from Sage, compile Excel reports, and send overdue invoice reminders to customers.
Monthly Tasks:
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns.
- Produce various ad hoc financial reports in Excel as required.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience using Sage Accounts and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work independently and manage priorities to meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external customers.
Monday – Friday 9 am-5pm - Office based - No Hybrid
Salary £30,000-£35,000
