Accounts Assistant - Part Time

As an Accounts Assistant on a part-time basis, you will be a vital part of our finance team, supporting the organisation with your expertise in accounting software, particularly Xero. Your role will involve data entry, accounts payable, and utilising premium skills in QuickBooks and Sage. Strong organisational skills and effective communication will be essential in liaising with team members and external stakeholders. By leveraging your proficiency in financial services, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoicing & Reconciliation

  • Raise and issue invoices upon job completion using Xero.
  • Upload data to Bibby and reconcile Bibby transactions with Xero.
  • Reconcile supplier invoices with company records to ensure accuracy.

Credit Control & Financial Management:

  • Add new companies to Xero and Bibby systems and conduct credit checks through Bibby.
  • Chase overdue invoices and ensure timely payments are received.
  • Maintain and update the Work In Progress (WIP) report to ensure all contracts capture costs correctly

Payment Processing:

  • Produce weekly lists for payments to be made, ensuring all payments are properly tracked and processed.
  • Support the finance team with daily accounts-related duties, including payment processing and reporting.

General Accounting Support:

  • Assist with the day-to-day accounting operations, including filing, record-keeping, and ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and reports as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero and Bibby experience is preferred).
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, including invoicing, reconciliation, and credit control.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Salary £14.28ph-£15.93ph

Flexible on start times and days - 16-20 per week
