An exciting opportunity to join an education setting as a Finance Officer as arisen. The team is a small but friendly office, based in Cheadle. Looking for a Finance Officer to join on a permanent basis. Looking for candidates that are motivated and ambitious and have experience in Finance. The role of the Finance Officer is to assist the Finance Team in providing effective and efficient financial management and control to ensure the provision of a high-quality Finance service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Generation of purchase orders
- Processing of purchase invoices
- Generation of sales invoices
- Processing of journals
- Preparation of BACS pay runs
- To investigate and resolve supplier invoices under query arranging returns and ensuring that refunds or credit notes are received.
- To establish and maintain strong working with suppliers as required.
- To check supplier statements and reconcile these with the school’s finance system.
- To receive, record, and bank cash and cheques received both from internal and external sources.
Skills Required:
- Experience of working in a finance or accountancy environment.
- Experience of working in a finance or accountancy environment.
- IT literate and proven experience in databases, finance packages, and advanced Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel and Word).
- Experience in building strong effective relationships with various stakeholders.
- Responding positively to and effecting change in the workplace.
- Experience in purchase ordering.
- Prior use of SIMS or similar management system.
Monday - Friday 30 hours per week
Salary £16,808-£17,868 Pro Rata - Full Time Salary £21,442 -£24,457
