This an exciting opportunity to join an education setting as an HR/Payroll officer. This is a small but friendly team who have a good reputation, based in Cheadle. This role is a 20-hour working week part-time Mon - Friday. The role would suit someone who is confident, well-mannered, and hard-working. The post of the HR & Payroll Officer is to ensure the professional running and reporting of payroll from end to end. The post holder should be highly organised and have excellent attention to detail.  The role involves a high volume of administration and relies on accuracy in relation to inputting data into the HR and payroll system and the processing of contracts, offer letters, and payroll.

The company has free parking on site and is in a good location. 

Duties:

  • Assisting in issuing/checking employment contracts.
  • Assisting the Head of HR with recruitment processes.
  • Dealing with general payroll queries and related correspondence.
  • Supporting the Head of HR with any additional HR administration requirements.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Senior Leadership Team or Assistant Bursar.
  • End-to-end payroll processing; including new employees, leavers, salary amendments, calculations for SMP, SPL, SPP, SSP, and pensions.
  • Assisting the Head of HR and Bursar with salary calculations.
  • Calculate and input any variable pay data e.g. additional hours/overtime.
  • Liaising with the Bursar and Assistant Bursar for the monthly payroll process.

Skills required:

  • Must be confident 
  • Must have a good knowledge of excel and Microsoft office 
  • Have HR and some payroll knowledge

Salary £16'903 - £18'006 pro rata - Full salary £32'662 - £34'794
