Inside Sales Representative – Shipping Industry

Key Responsibilities

· Proactively acquire new business through outbound calls, emails, and client visits.

· Build tailored freight solutions to meet customer needs.

· Prepare and negotiate competitive quotes and contracts.

· Monitor market trends and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

· Represent the company at trade events and assist the UK Sales Manager on joint customer calls.

· Support shipment coordination, tracking, and status updates in the shipping industry.

· Step in to manage operations during busy periods or team absences.

· Prepare shipping documentation and liaise with overseas agents and carriers.

· Resolve customer queries and maintain high service standards.

Ideal Candidate:

· Commercial: Strong sales ability, market awareness, and a customer-focused mindset.

· Operational: Solid understanding of freight forwarding, keen eye for detail, and ability to troubleshoot.

· Interpersonal: Excellent communication skills, adaptable team player, and well-organised.

· Personal: Resilient, proactive, flexible, and professional in all interactions.

· Proven experience in freight forwarding or shipping, with a focus on LCL in the shipping industry.

· Good knowledge of international logistics, Incoterms, and global trade.

· Strong customer service, multitasking, and IT skills.

· Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage workload independently.

· Familiarity with ocean carriers and working with overseas partners/agents.

Monday – Friday 37.5 hours a week

Salary £32,000-£36,000 Plus yearly bonus between £5k-£10k
