Shipping Coordinator – Sandbach – Hybrid Role
Seeking an experienced and highly organised Shipping Coordinator to join a growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in international shipping, import/export operations, and customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the movement of goods across global markets, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, documentation is accurate, and customers receive outstanding support throughout the shipping process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery.
- Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, customs paperwork, and related export/import documentation.
- Monitor vessel schedules and shipment progress, ensuring all movements are tracked and communicated effectively.
- Manage individual loads and shipments, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met.
- Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, ports, customs agents, and other logistics partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing regular updates and resolving any shipment-related issues.
- Work closely with traders and commercial teams involved in purchasing and selling goods.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure spreadsheets and internal systems are kept fully up to date.
- Monitor shipping costs, transit times, and operational performance.
- Identify and resolve logistical challenges quickly and efficiently.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a Shipping Coordinator, Shipping Administrator, Logistics Coordinator, or similar shipping-related role.
- Strong knowledge of import and export procedures and international shipping documentation.
- Experience handling Bills of Lading and customs-related paperwork.
- Proven ability to monitor shipments, vessels, and cargo movements.
- Experience dealing with individual cargo loads and shipment scheduling.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience working with the UK, European, and Chinese markets.
- Ability to work effectively with traders, suppliers, and commercial teams.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and maintaining accurate spreadsheets and records.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week
Hybrid role
Salary £33,000-£38,000
