Warehouse Production Manager

Warehouse Production Manager - £55k

The Warehouse/Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day warehouse and production operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, smooth workflow, compliance with health & safety standards, and timely delivery of products. The role requires strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

  • Plan, organize, and control all warehouse and production activities.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, space, and equipment
  • Oversee stock control, goods in/out, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Oversee the implementation of production schedules and workflows to meet demand and deadlines.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and motivate warehouse and production staff.
  • Allocate tasks and manage staffing levels in line with operational needs.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, conducting risk assessments and inspections.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet specifications.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor KPIs and drive efficiency improvements in production and warehousing.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize processes.
  • Introduce lean practices where applicable.

Communication & Reporting

  • Liaise with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare reports on productivity, stock levels, and operational performance.
  • Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, contractors, and auditors.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in warehouse and production management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with lean/continuous improvement methodologies desirable.

Preferred:

  • Health & Safety certification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH) is desirable.
  • Forklift license (where relevant) is advantageous.
