Warehouse Production Manager - £55k
The Warehouse/Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day warehouse and production operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, smooth workflow, compliance with health & safety standards, and timely delivery of products. The role requires strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Plan, organize, and control all warehouse and production activities.
- Ensure efficient use of resources, space, and equipment
- Oversee stock control, goods in/out, and accurate record-keeping.
- Oversee the implementation of production schedules and workflows to meet demand and deadlines.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse and production staff.
- Allocate tasks and manage staffing levels in line with operational needs.
- Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment, conducting risk assessments and inspections.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet specifications.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor KPIs and drive efficiency improvements in production and warehousing.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize processes.
- Introduce lean practices where applicable.
Communication & Reporting
- Liaise with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare reports on productivity, stock levels, and operational performance.
- Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, contractors, and auditors.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in warehouse and production management.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with lean/continuous improvement methodologies desirable.
Preferred:
- Health & Safety certification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH) is desirable.
- Forklift license (where relevant) is advantageous.
